Veronica and Peter’s story began long before their first official date. They met in high school, where they knew each other, shared classes (including accounting..foreshadowing Veronica’s future career), and quietly carried a mutual crush that never quite turned into anything… yet. Years later, in 2018, Peter reconnected with Veronica and asked her out. Their first date was at the Houston Rodeo Cook-Off, setting the tone for a relationship rooted in laughter, comfort, and an easy friendship that felt familiar from the very beginning. Around that same time, Veronica often joked with her friends that she was going to marry Peter.. (long before anything serious had even begun. Turns out, she was right!) While their story started in 2018, it wasn’t until January 2021 that everything truly fell into place. That year, Peter moved back to Houston from Austin. At the time, he said it was simply what he wanted- but later confessed the real reason was that he wanted to pursue Veronica seriously. From that moment on, their relationship deepened, grounded in intention, friendship, and a love that felt like home. Veronica fell in love with Peter’s big heart, his selflessness, and the quiet way he shows up for the people he loves. Peter, in turn, fell in love with Veronica as she became his best friend—the person who feels like home, no matter where they are. In 2025, the ultimate surprise unfolded. In April of 2025, Peter’s mom and sister asked her to help plan a surprise 30th birthday party for Peter. She happily agreed, completely unaware that Peter had an UNO reverse card up his sleeve. With the help of both of their families, and knowing how much family means to Veronica, Peter turned his birthday celebration into a surprise proposal. Veronica was completely shocked (after all, who proposes on their own birthday?), but it was the perfect reflection of Peter’s generous and selfless heart. As they prepare for marriage in the Catholic Church, Veronica and Peter are grateful for the way God has guided their journey—teaching them patience, strengthening their faith, and drawing them closer not only to each other, but to Him. They look forward to beginning this next chapter rooted in love, faith, and the promise of forever.
