How we Met

During our freshman year at Purdue, both of us ate dinner at 5pm everyday in Wiley Dining Court. We both noticed each other going about our lives, eating too many chicken nuggets and way too much pizza. But neither of us were looking for a relationship at the time. Later, Peter discovered one of his friends, Demi, was actually good friends with this mystery girl. He reached out to Demi and asked what she thought of Emma. Demi had nothing but good things to say, and so Peter knew he had to get to know this girl. Near the beginning of our Sophomore year, we were both at the Purdue Football game against Indiana State. On Peter's way out of the stadium, he noticed Emma and her friends had already left and were taking pictures nearby. Conveniently, Peter and his friend and Emma and her posse were all heading in the same direction. With Emma and her friends walking closely behind, Peter and his friend slowed down to the point that the two groups were within conversation distance. Peter turned around and introduced himself. He told her that he was friends with Emma's friend Demi and had wanted to say hello. We talked for a moment awkwardly and then parted ways. The following Monday, we were both eating dinner in Wiley Dining Court at our usual hour with our friends, and Peter decided he needed to get Emma's number. The following weekend we went on our first date to the famous Silver Dipper Ice Cream Shop on campus. We hit it off so well, the rest is history...

Our Engagement

We moved to New York City in the summer of this past year. As soon as Peter had enough money from his new job, he started working on getting the perfect ring for his perfect match. One of our favorite places to hang out in New York City on any given summer day was Central Park. One of the most romantic places on earth, it was the perfect place to start our marriage journey together. On September 21st, 2018, Peter had a new blazer, all the supplies for a picnic in the park, and a good friend as a photographer ready to catch every moment. We had our picnic on a grassy knoll in the Ramble in Central Park and as sunset approached, packed up and moved towards The Lake on the west side of the park. There we went to the Lake Viewing Area and with oohs and ahhs from the New Yorkers in canoes behind, Peter got down on one knee and asked Emma to be his only for forever to come.
