FAQs

Question

What is the attire for the welcome dinner?

Answer

French Quarter Festive! That's just a fun way to say that you can wear anything from dresses to dressed up jeans. Please note this event will be outside (weather dependent).

Question

What does cocktail attire mean for the ceremony + reception?

Answer

For the ceremony and reception, ladies can opt for a tea-length, knee-length, or a midi dress. Men are asked to wear a suit, but tie is optional. (Let's be honest, you'll be loosening it on the dance floor anyway). Please note that the ceremony will be outdoors (tented in the case of rain) as will the cocktail hour. The reception will be indoors.

Question

What is a New Orleans style reception?

Answer

We do weddings a bit different down here! In addition to the second line (the traditional wedding parade with a jazz band), we like to have reception-style weddings. That means that while there is dinner and plenty of seating, there is no formal seated dinner. Simply eat when you want and dance when you want, and we'll see you on the dance floor (or at the shrimp and grits station).

Question

And after the party is ....?

Answer

The after party, of course! We'll be heading across the street to Down the Hatch to keep the party going.
