AirBnB/VRBO: note that is thin in SF due to short-term rental laws, but there is a healthy supply of options in East Bay and in Marin County 3. Hotels in Union Square: we would rank this third on the list - it is where most tourists stay so you'll find lots of hotels here ranging from small boutiques to the Westin 4.
