ABOUT CASTELLO DI RISTONCHI: The 1,000+ year old Castello di Ristonchi is still watching over the gorgeous Tuscan hillside landscape. The history here shows signs of monks, wars and stonemasons. The castle offers a restaurant, a wood fired pizza oven built into the stonewalls, a chapel, an outdoor pool filled with fresh mountain spring water, a playground, olive groves and fruit trees all surrounded by an ancient chestnut forest hiding treasures yet to be discovered. GETTING THERE/FLIGHTS We recommend flying into Florence or Rome (pro-tip: Rome tends to be cheaper). If you do fly into Rome, you may want to rent a car since it would be a 3 -hour drive. If you are coming from the NYC area, there are also direct flights into Milan, Venice, and Naples! (If you are planning to do more sightseeing beforehand.) There are frequent trains from Rome to Florence and from Florence to Pelago, however, public transportation is not recommended. Cabs are available but not Uber.

Our wedding venue! We have the castle reserved from the 3-6th, and it sleeps about 60 guests. Rooms will be filled on a first come, first served basis, so If you would like to stay with us, please let us know as soon as possible. The castle is old, rustic and charming! The floors are worn and the bathrooms are small and quirky (it happens when a building is built 1,000 years before plumbing was invented.) Full disclosure, there is no air conditioning, but in October we think this shouldn't be an issue. If this kind of sleeping arrangement is not your journey, there are plenty of other off-site places that may be more up your alley.
