Meeting people these days is hard. So, we opted to try online dating. We matched (on Match) and, after some persistence from Courtney, went on our first date to Naco Taco in Cambridge. Julian wore his now infamous "brown t-shirt" and Courtney was 10 minutes late (not bad considering the T these days). But, we talked for hours over margaritas and beef tongue tacos, realizing that we lived just a few blocks from each other, took the same buses, and rode the red line into the city daily. We haven't looked back since. Who would have guessed a 30 day Match.com Groupon would be life changing?
It didn't. For future grooms out there, don't buy two ring sizers and estimate an engagement ring size based upon the ring she most often wears on her left ring finger. Because you'll somehow be three sizes too big. One other piece of advice - don't use Google or your home network to browse online for wedding rings. There's a good chance your (future) fiancée will start receiving targeted ads that include the exact ring you're looking at. So, did Courtney know about the proposal three months before it happened? Yes. But, she was somehow able to keep a straight face all the way up until the actual proposal - at which point her face told it all. She immediately said "Yes" and was finally able to spill the secret she had been keeping. Thanks, Google.
