It's been over six years since Jill and Matt first met! Matt just finished coaching at Northwestern State University and just moved back to Charleston and Jill was about to start a new job at a local radio station and also just moved to Charleston from Moncks Corner. By the luck of fate on December 29, 2012 they were invited to a wedding of mutual friends! Matt saw Jill as soon as she walked into the reception and immediately turned to his Mom and said, "There she is! That's the one!" A few hours later he with the help of liquid courage he introduced himself to Jill. Jill and Matt hit it off immediately and once the conversation had just started rolling, the band stopped and the lights came on. They then planned to meet up with a group of mutual friends they had in common for an after party where they continued to get to know each other! Later that week Matt took Jill on their first date to a local comedy club in Charleston. Jill says it's the best first date she had ever gone on! They were inseparable after that and as they say, THE REST IS HISTORY!

Jill and Matt always go to Colorado for a week during the 4th of July! This time they decided that they would spend a day at the Grand Canyon before driving the rest of the way to Colorado. Matt knew immediately that he wanted to pop the question there! Once they got to the Grand Canyon they spent the entire day biking down the South Rim, hiking and sight seeing! They then decided to drive to a look out point that was suggested to them! They walked down and Matt asked a woman to take their picture, once they walked out on the edge he told Jill how much he loved doing adventures with her and ask her if she would go on adventures with him for the rest of their lives! Jill doesn't remember anything, she was in complete shock! About 30 minutes later-- SHE SAID YES!
