Our Story: Victoria's Version

While we met at work in 2017, we never hung out socially until early 2020 when some of his teammates invited me to join them for lunch. At lunch Perry & I got to know each other better, which led to increased conversations in the office and then due to Covid, increased conversations virtually. I eventually invited him over for dinner, which turned into 8 hours of talking. For our next hang, we attempted an earlier dinner but that just turned into 10 hours of talking. On his drive home that night, Perry called to ask me to take him out of the friend zone & suggested we go on a real date. I was skeptical as I loved the friendship we'd built & didn't want to complicate it, but I knew I wanted to keep spending time with him. After a few dates I quickly realized I was falling in love with my best friend & I can't wait to celebrate our love with you all in March!

Our Story: Perry's Version

Victoria and I began working at the same company in 2017 however we rarely spoke outside of greeting in passing. At the beginning of 2020 people in our social circles at the office began to overlap, and we’d be involved in conversations where I was surprised at her incredible sense of humor. All I knew about her to this point was she was highly intelligent, professional, and serious. This new aspect piqued my interest. My plan was to learn more about her and potentially ask her out for coffee or even dinner later that year. Then Covid hit and we were all sent home for the foreseeable future. Our group of work friends continued to meet virtually to catch up and it was during one of these convos that Vic and I had more direct interactions. One of those interactions spun off onto a side conversation that resulted in me getting an invitation to dinner which in my mind meant a date! It was immediately clear once I arrived at her house (Covid having closed all restaurants in town) that I was incorrect and overdressed. Despite my misinterpretation of intention, the evening was incredible. We somehow chatted for 8 hours straight yet it felt like 2. I left that night very excited to see her again but also realized that she very firmly had me grouped in the friend zone. We hung out again a week or so later and after another short conversation session (10 hours!) I resolved to at least let her know how I felt. She thankfully was open to the idea of being more than friends and by the end of summer I’d not only discovered my best friend but also the love of my life! We are so excited to celebrate our wedding with you and look forward to sharing laughs, hugs, and stories with you in March!
