Perry's friends, Anna Grace and Mary Fran suggested Perry meet Mary Fran's cousin, Micah. They were introduced at the friends' movie night, but they didn't get a chance to talk much that evening. Shortly after the first introduction, Micah texted Perry and asked if she would like to go out in a few weeks; both of their schedules were busy until about a month later. In late January, Micah took Perry to the Joinery and for a walk around downtown's Lake Mirror. They enjoyed their time so much, they kept walking — next to Lake Hollingsworth. They continued communicating and encouraging each other, and after a few months they both knew they wanted a future together. Discernment and friends' advice guided them to give the relationship time. They spent the rest of 2025 at game nights, as wedding guests and plus ones, on impromptu adventures with the "Grinches" (friend group from church), studying for grad' school, and eating Publix frozen yogurt. Micah surprised Perry with a lakeside proposal orchestrated by her friends, Rachael and Lydia, in January 2026. Friends and family gathered after to celebrate and look forward to a late summer wedding.
