Our mutual friend Alyssa (THANK YOU) introduced us virtually in November 2020. At the time, I was living in East Lansing while Jake lived an hour away in Lapeer. We started texting one day after he saw a tweet of mine that made him laugh. We still haven't stopped texting. Between Jake's work schedule, my school schedule, COVID, and general life craziness, it took us awhile to meet in person. Once we finally confirmed neither of us were getting catfished on a Friday in May 2021, our fate was pretty much sealed. Things just made sense when we were together. Jacob soon made things official with a bouquet of daisies. By mid-July, we were seeing each other every weekend. I called my sister in a panic over how in love with him I had already fallen. Little did I know (but kind of figured), Jake was describing the same feelings of fear & excitement I had to his sisters. Since then, we've been navigating our twenties and creating our version of an ideal life together.

In September 2023, along with our friends Ana & Nat, we spent an amazing week in Iceland. Jake proposed at Thingvellir National Park on the shores of Thingvallavatn Lake.
