Perry and Cliff met in Washington D.C. in the summer of 2017 through mutual acquaintances. The thing Cliff noticed immediately was Perry’s style and eyes. He thought they were captivating. Perry felt Cliff checked all of the physical feature boxes, he absolutely thought he was undoubtedly handsome…Unfortunately, Perry quickly learned that Cliff was unavailable. Not knowing each other’s thoughts from that day, for years of seeing each other out occasionally a simple friendly greeting was the only exchange. Years later in New York, Perry was in town working for Fashion Week and unbeknownst to him, Cliff was there working as well at the United Nations General Assembly. Perry made a post about being in the city. Cliff saw it and thought, maybe I should invite him out for drinks. Cliff reached out and Perry said sure! just let me know where. They had never hung out before so there was some anxiety about meeting up on both ends. To their surprise, it went great! It was fun, informative, genuine, and refreshing to say the least. From that point, over time a friendship developed. There were long, deep conversations had between the two of them, and their feelings evolved. After time they decided that the feelings felt too real and decided to pull back from each other. Perry wanted to maintain some sort of friendship, but Cliff had other things to sort out which ultimately led to them not speaking at all. As small as D.C. is, they never crossed paths for close to a year and a half. One cold, rainy Wednesday night, Cliff walks into a Happy Hour spot not knowing Perry and friends frequently attend. To Perry’s surprise , he looks up and notices a familiar silhouette standing at the front. They locked eyes, Perry nodded, Cliff waved as he took his seat at the bar. Perry in shock told his friends that he saw Cliff and wanted to extend an olive branch. Simultaneously a rush of emotions came over Cliff as he explained to his friend what was happening in the moment, Cliff explained how he wanted to at least have a conversation with Perry. Coincidentally in that moment Cliff’s favorite drink that he didn’t order was served to him. With a shocked face Cliff questioned the bartender and he pointed to the table of Perry and his friends. Cliff turns to Perry and they both raised their glass to salute each other. Later on that night Cliff decided to reach out to Perry. The conversation lasted for hours as if it never skipped a beat. The one thing they knew by the end of that long conversation is that they are truly meant to be together, forever. When Love calls, you better answer!
