Our story feels a little like fate was quietly at work long before we ever realized it. Our dads have been good friends for years, which meant our lives crossed paths early on, but we were too young then to remember just how close we already were. Christopher spent his early years in Bakersfield before moving back to Taft in high school, while Perri grew up in Taft and later moved to Bakersfield during her high school years. Somehow, we were always just one step behind each other, our lives overlapping without ever quite connecting. It wasn’t until a mutual friend’s wedding that everything finally came into focus. In a moment that now feels meant to be, we truly met for the first time. What started as a simple introduction quickly turned into something more as we got to know each other, and before long, we began dating. Looking back, it’s incredible to see how our lives had been intertwined all along, woven together through family, friendship, and shared places, until the timing was finally right. What once were near misses became the beginning of our forever, and we couldn’t be more grateful that our paths led us exactly where they did: to each other.
