Whether you love shopping unique local boutiques, designer shops, vintage finds or your favorite retailers, Greater Palm Springs has plenty of shopping options. From outlet malls to street fairs and farmers markets, chic boutiques to independently owned galleries, you’re sure to find just what you’re shopping for.
Greater Palm Springs has more than a 100 hikes to offer. Thousand Palms Oasis Preserve is one of the most beautiful places we've seen in Palm Springs, with incredible hikes where you can see waterfalls and pools. There's a small entrance fee to enter the parks, but then you have tons of hikes to choose from. From cactus to cloud is another great hike in the middle of Downtown Palm Springs. Be prepared to climb as the elevation increase is one of the greatest for hikes in the US. I only hiked the first little bit of the 21 miles long hike, which most people do, and it served the most incredible look over the city and dessert.
Palm Springs is known for its many fine examples of midcentury-modern architecture and has attracted some of the leading brains in modernism. Some of the most famous houses are Frey House II, Kaufman House, Bob Hope House and Palm Springs City Hall by Albert Frey, but there are hidden gems all over.
The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway—the world’s largest rotating tram car—travels over two-and-one-half miles along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon, transporting riders to the pristine wilderness of the Mt. San Jacinto State Park. During your approximately ten-minute journey, tram cars rotate slowly, offering picturesque and spectacular vistas of the valley floor below. Once you reach the Mountain Station—elevation 8,516 feet—enjoy two restaurants, observation decks, natural history museum, two documentary theaters, gift shop and over 50 miles of hiking trails.
