We both attended King’s College, though our paths didn’t cross until a medical mission trip to Ecuador. We like to say our first date was sneaking away to a park in Cuenca—and from that moment, we never looked back. We quickly discovered how much we had in common: strong family values and parents who were both high school sweethearts. After a summer of endless texts, we officially started dating in October 2019. Despite the challenges of COVID and long-distance—Joe beginning nursing school in Philadelphia while Emily finished grad school—we made it through. In 2022, we finally closed the distance and moved in together in Philadelphia!
