Welcome to Us

Our story starts with a delicious authentic Mexican restaurant, and one fateful Burktoberfest Bailey and Chris started as coworkers, moved to friends, and fell in love through a series of movies, breweries, visits to foreign countries, and lots of singing along to Billy Joel. We are so glad to have our many (many) family members and friends come together to celebrate with us as we tie the knot on October 19th, 2019! We are so incredibly blessed to have everyone in our lives.

His Version

I was told I was supposed to write something here. So here we go... I met Bailey at work. She was short(er than me). But that wasn't the spark. There are plenty of people shorter than me, and plenty taller now that we are on the subject. Anyway... Bailey really won me over when I said, "I hate when I get 7 drumsticks and only 3 flats when I order wings!" and she said, "Well, I'll order wings and I'll give you all my flats in exchange for your drumsticks." That random Tuesday afternoon i knew I'd marry her. Never told her that, so let's keep that between us. So the other day (January) I told her I needed to have lunch with a coworker i hadn't seen in a while and instead of buying lunch I bought a legally binding commitment. And that burned a hole in my pocket for 13 hours (two pairs of jeans completely ruined). I asked her to marry me in the dark, on a Monday, before work, outside the car, her nails were jacked up, it was perfect! Best Monday I (we) ever had! How do I save this? oh there's the button...

Her Version

I was so incredibly lucky to be in the position I was as an intern at Perry Hall Middle. The teachers there were kind and welcoming, taking the time to learn who I was. I had a wonderful department to plug into when I accepted the position to work there full time. There were a number of great people I had the chance to work with. Chris just so happened to be one of them. I slowly got to know him, as a coworker and a friend, over the course of 3 years of working at Perry Hall. My personal life was not run by myself, however, and I made the choice to take charge of where I was going...which brought me to attend one of Chris's Burktoberfest events, back in 2017. Throughout the night we got to know each other better--in a situation where we saw each other as real people and not coworkers. After much convincing, I was able to get him to show off his favorite Mexican place to me: Fiesta Mexicana. We talked about life and family and food, and then we hung out after and talked some more. After a month or so, and a conversation about the best shape of chicken wing (Drummies are hands down the best) Chris and I decided to try out our own journey. Fast forward to January 28th 2019, Chris surprised me with a proposal that was so perfectly us. A Monday morning to make all Mondays. In the complete darkness of January at 6:30am, Chris asked me to marry him, and I have never been happier. I am so lucky to have him in my life to take care of me when I'm sick, listen to my stupid stories, and always find time to hang out in the kitchen. I really and truly do Enjoy our Journey <3
