We met online in August of 2017 and it was love at first swipe. She made the first move, messaging me first (she is the more outgoing one) and it took off. I was living in Courtland and she was in Lincoln, so we texted and talked on the phone for 2 months before I convinced her to come to Kansas for my birthday. I remember being extremely nervous waiting on her to get to my house. Hundreds of thoughts raced through my head! Am I going to be everything she thought I was? Is her smile going to make my day even brighter than it has through snapchats and facetimes? Is her laugh going to be as contagious as it was on the phone? DID I PUT DEODERANT ON?! I knew from the beginning that Bailey was special, but I didn’t know how special she would end up being. She FINALLY showed up to my house and when we hugged, I felt like the weight of the world was lifted off of my shoulders. We loaded up and went on a crop tour. After a few beers and a lot of dirt roads, we went to the local bar; Pinky’s. It was just us, the bartender, and hours of laughter. She even bought me a birthday beer (40oz)! The next day Bailey went back to NE and I couldn’t wait to see her again so I went to Lincoln the next weekend! Bentley and I met her best friend Tayer G (Taylor Geiser/ Maid of Honor). The next morning we got up and decided to go get breakfast. I wore my purple K-State shirt on a Saturday morning during football season…in Lincoln, Nebraska (GO STATE)! We went out to her parents’ house that night and met everyone; mom, dad, brother, aunt, grandma, grandpa, and family friends. There was something about that night though that I’ll never forget. That was the day I knew I was going to marry Bailey. We started “officially” dating a few days later…318 days later…I asked my best friend to spend the rest of her life with me and I think she said “yes” (we still aren’t really sure what she said…) We celebrated with our friends and family until the early hours of the morning that night.
As Caleb said before, we met online. Our first time meeting was as exciting as it was nerve wracking! It was his birthday and I didn’t want to show up empty handed, so I grabbed his favorite whiskey (Pendleton) and gave myself a peptalk to try to calm my nerves. The drive down there was MISERY. Two hours alone in a car with nobody to help me with my increasingly panicky thoughts! I have found that it is super easy to make a scenario in your head better than what it actually is, so I was worried one of us wouldn’t live up to the other’s expectations. With that being said, Caleb absolutely blew me away with his humor, confidence, and love for life. We spent the whole night telling stories and laughing. We wandered around his little town, met some new friends, and the rest is history. To this day Caleb has done nothing but build me up, support me, and make me laugh. I can’t wait until October 3!
