We met at a Jewish Young Professionals event... JK we actually met on a dating app. Have you heard of Hinge? We matched on the app and after some back and forth chatting we decided it was time to meet in person. Alec picked me up and we went for our first brunch date on Las Olas. We liked each other instantly and after multiple dates we decided to make it dating official!

We were heading up to Merritt Island, FL to celebrate Alec's birthday weekend with his family... or so I thought. I was under the impression we were celebrating Alec's 28th birthday and even spoke to his parents about the cake and surprise BBQ. We hit the usual Miami traffic as we drove up on Friday before Shabbat. While I was worried about making it before candle lighting, Alec was actually worried about making it before sunset because he had a surprise of his own. When we arrived, I was told to "dress up for Shabbat" because we were taking "family pictures". We walked outside as the sun was setting over the Indian River and Alec led me over the water to the end of the dock. He got down on one knee and proposed!
