In late 2015 Jon and Mackenzie were both using the dating app Plenty of Fish. Having used the app for some time without success, both Jon and Mackenzie were considering deactivating their accounts. Unfortunately, or should I say fortunately, both Jon and Mackenzie had forgotten their passwords and were unable to deactivate their accounts at that time. One day Jon ‘swiped right’ on Mackenzie after reading her profile which described her hopes and dreams for herself and what she was looking for in a lifelong partner. Mackenzie came across Jon’s profile and admired his sweet smile, silly photos, and laidback demeanor. Mackenzie also ‘swiped right’ and the two were MATCHED! On 11/23/15, Jon and Mackenzie met for the first time at the Starbucks in Montclair, NJ. The two sipped on coffee as they discussed their hobbies, careers, and plans for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Mackenzie recalls Jon talking about traveling to Maine for the holiday to be with his family and his excitement to spend more time with his 1 year old Niece, Clara (The Flower girl) Jon recalls Mackenzie’s bubbly personality, honesty and her passion for her line of work. Following that first date, the two continued to text daily and sought each other’s company more often. On one such occasion, as the two prepared to depart after dinner at a local restaurant, Mackenzie leaned in for a kiss and Jon, seemingly unprepared hesitated before kissing Mackenzie. As the two got into separate cars to head home Jon thought, “well I messed that up”, while Mackenzie remarked “gosh, I just want to kiss him again!” Jon and Mackenzie continued their courtship, and on 2/12/2020 while the two were vacationing to San Francisco, California, Jon proposed to Mackenzie while at their Airbnb in Burlingame, California. With tears in her eyes, Mackenzie said yes and the two were engaged to be married! There are Plenty of Fish in the sea, but we would have to agree that we have found the catch of a lifetime in each other.
