Things To Do

We know many of you are making a weekend trip of coming to our wedding so we compiled a list of some places that are around our venue to check out. Please note that each place varies in distance and in price. Click on the view tab to go to each place's website for more info. We are excited to celebrate with you!

White Squirrel Festival

175 East Main Street, Brevard, NC 28712

This is a big festival that is happening the weekend of the wedding in downtown Brevard. This area will have a parade on Saturday morning, live music, food vendors, and all sorts of other things happening. Check out their website for more info! This festival is happening very close to our venue so please get your hotel rooms booked soon!

Sliding Rock - Natural Water Slide

7851 Pisgah Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768

If it is warm enough, this is a 60 ft long rock that is used by locals as a natural water slide. This water slide is near to other waterfalls in the Pisgah Forest. We would suggest driving the Forest Heritage Scenic Byway and checking out Looking Glass Falls, Looking Glass Rock, Daniel Ridge Falls, and the Pink Beds Trail (a hiking trail and picnic area). There is so much natural beauty to see in this area it could take half a day to check it all out.

Jump Off Rock

1818 Laurel Park Highway, Laurel Park, NC 28739

This place has a phenomenal view of the mountains!

Chimney Rock at Chinmey Rock State Park

431 Main St, Chimney Rock, NC 28720

There is a 499 step Outcroppings trail to the Chimney Rock where there is a view of the surrounding mountains or if you aren't feeling a hike there is an elevator. There is also a deck area (with a little gift shop) that overlooks the park if you aren't feeling the hike or the elevator ride. Also within this park is Hickory Nut Falls if you want to see a waterfall.

Lake Toxaway

220 Greystone Ln, Lake Toxaway, NC 28747

This is a cute small town about 20 minutes out from Brevard. This area has a golf course at the Lake Toxaway Country Club and the Greystone Inn has recently reopened so there are places to stay on the lake. This This town has all the small town charm and shops that a person could need not to mention places to rent kayaks and canoes to play on the lake.

Highlands

Highlands, NC 28741

This is another small town not far from Lake Toxaway. It is a popular vacation spot for visitors in the summer with it's the picturesque small town feel with all its shops and local places to eat. Check out the website for more info!

Biltmore House

1 Lodge Street, Asheville, NC 28803
, (800) 411-3812

This Biltmore House is a giant mansion owned by George Washington Vanderbilt II. It is the largest privately owned house in the United States. It is gorgeous and it's gardens are beautiful in the spring. Incidently, Noah proposed to me at the Biltmore House in November so it holds a special place in our hearts and it is a cool stop for anyone who hasn't been.

Carl Sandburg Home

81 Carl Sandburg Ln, Flat Rock, NC 28731

Carl Sandburg was an American writer and poet in the 1900s. He won multiple Pulitzer prizes. His house is now a museum that you can walk through.
