Amy, Sakina, and Victoria have been friends for as long as they can remember, and they just can't seem to shake each other no matter how hard they try. So, they've decided they will just accept each other as the sisters they never had. They grew up with a weekly tradition of pizza and a movie every Friday night. They know every possible secret about each other. They will be there for the birth of each other’s children (although they frequently argue about which friend will be the one to have a kid, since none of them seem eager to step up for the greater good of having a cute baby in the group). They've talked often about getting a house where they can grow old together (I guess Javi can come too). Victoria is so happy they will stand next to her as her maids of honor.
Archie Marez + Ben Garside
Best Man
Although Javi has only known Archie and Ben for a couple of years, in that time they have grown to be some of his closest friends. Javi first met Archie years ago through mutual friends, but their friendship really came to fruition when Javi joined the live band for Archie’s longtime music project, Cosmic Frownies. Early on, they bonded over an immense passion for music and art and played countless shows together all over the DFW area. During the early months of the band, Ben came along and joined, fitting right into the group. Whether it came to music, movies, video games, or stupid videos they found online, the three of them always bonded, never having a dull moment during an endless number of band practices and hangs. They’ve been present for every major moment of Javi and Victoria’s relationship and will continue to do so as Javi’s best men.
Allysa Garza

Allysa and Victoria have been friends since the moment Allysa knocked on Victoria’s practice room door during lunch (just because they chose to eat their lunch in the choir practice rooms does NOT mean they were lame- just dedicated to their craft!) and asked her to help with her All-State music. These lunches quickly turned into more talking than singing, and they bonded over their love of Wattpad and gossiped about the boys they liked. They have always been fiercely loyal to each other and would help each other make tough decisions (Allysa even drove Victoria to her high school boyfriend’s house to dump him—and thank GOD for that). Victoria is so happy to have Allysa by her side on the big day :-)
Chris Cruz
Groomsman
Chris and Javi first met when they both moved to England in the 7th grade. They shared a homeroom and a couple of classes, quickly growing close through a mutual love of sports and video games (but mostly video games). Every Friday, they were joined by their equally close friends, Noah and Mateo, at someone’s house to hang out and eat an abhorrent amount of pizza, Doritos, and Oreos - playing video games and talking about anything and everything until the sun came up, then doing it all over again the next week. Growing up, they found themselves spending most of their free time together, and although they’ve been living apart for a number of years now, their friendship remains one of the most formative and important to Javi. He can’t wait for their reunion at the wedding and knows they’ll pick up right where they left off.
Karla Orozco

Karla and Victoria met in grad school while pursuing their master’s in public administration. They met at orientation and then carefully planned their schedules for the next four semesters to be exactly the same. They studied together, planned for their futures together, and along the way became genuine friends. Karla is still the first person Victoria goes to whenever she has professional questions or just needs to vent a little about work. Victoria loves watching them become real adults with jobs after endless hours of studying and tests. She can’t wait to have Karla by her side when she marries Javi!
Jon Shivers

Javi first met Jon during the pandemic, when he was spending every weekend with his then-band, Boy Shorts. Although they never got around to playing live, Jon was eager to join the band, and they hit it off immediately. They spent almost every weekend together practicing—but most of the time, it just turned into an excuse to hang out. Eventually, COVID had them apart for a while, but music quickly brought them back together when Jon asked Javi to play in bands with him and his brother. This was a pivotal moment for Javi, introducing him to so many incredible people and musicians, and it allowed their friendship to grow even more. Like with Archie and Ben, Javi has played countless shows with Jon, and with Jon being one of the most genuine and artistically like-minded people he knows, he couldn’t be happier to have him in the groom’s party.
Lexi Perez

Victoria’s first impression of Lexi was on her second date with Javi, when they went to his house to watch a movie. They walked in to see Lexi making cotton candy, with little strands of pink sugar floating all through the air. So this was Javi’s sister. Victoria thought she was cool immediately. Since then, they have gotten even closer. Lexi has always been so welcoming and inviting to Victoria and made her feel like one of the family right away. Victoria is so excited to be getting a sister and to catch up on all the moments they missed not growing up together (like listening to Hannah Montana, arts and crafts, and giggling through the entire day).
Luke Shivers

Luke was one of the first people Javi met when he started to get involved in the Denton music scene. They first met after Javi went to his first local show at an art gallery in Ft. Worth, following his very first band practice with Boy Shorts. They hung out a few times after that meeting, getting along immediately thanks to a shared love of artsy movies and music they thought was a little “out there.” COVID kept them apart for a while but they reconnected when his brother brought him on to play with them in their bands. They grew extremely close through their guitar playing and endless conversations about their passions for music. Like Jon, Luke brought so many creative opportunities to Javi and introduced him to some of the coolest people he’s ever met, taking him all over the country to make music they love together.
Sahara Donna

Sahara and Victoria met in the College of Music and became fast friends. They both bonded over musicals and their love of childish things. Victoria always knows that if she has any odd idea for an activity, Sahara will be the first person to say yes (like doing clown makeup and having a scary photoshoot). Sahara has always been Victoria’s yes man, and Victoria has been her loyal and protective guard dog. Their friendship centers on never dimming each other’s light and letting them each be as themselves as they wish to be. There’s nothing one of them could say that would throw the other off. Sahara is the reason Javi and Victoria are together! She invited Victoria to see Javi play and spent the entire night encouraging her to talk to him. She, along with Javi’s friend Sam, even chaperoned their first date :3
Kobe Rawson

Kobe joined Javi’s friend group during their freshman year of high school, at first not really talking much. But one walk home alone together completely changed that and set Javi on the musical path he’s on today. Kobe got Javi into playing guitar and countless movies, inspiring him culturally and artistically in ways he never would have discovered on his own. He continued to do so well beyond high school, moving with their close friend Mateo to Denton, where Javi didn’t know anyone at the time. He motivated Javi to join a band, which would lead to a series of events that eventually brought him to Victoria. They’ve been through their highs and lows together, and Javi couldn’t think of a better addition to the groom’s party.
Shania Khan

Shania was one of Victoria’s mother’s students in KCBY. Victoria had told herself she would never be friends with one of her mom’s students (they were all a little too obsessive over Mrs. K). One day, Victoria’s mom brought her to volunteer at her former student’s nonprofit. Victoria and Shania met and became friends right away. They became so close that they even became roommates in college. Victoria still maintains that Shania is the best roommate she’s ever had. When they lived together, they would do yoga, listen to Lizzie McAlpine, and talk about endless boy drama. Since then, they have stayed close. Shania has become someone Victoria knows she can count on. If Victoria were ever to end up in jail, she knows who her first call would be to.
Logan Perez

Logan is Javi's 1st younger brother and out of all of his siblings, he definitely has the most middle child tendencies. These tendencies got them both into some trouble when they were younger but its these traits that Javi admires most about him. Javi has loved having the privilege of watching him grow and become an extremely independent, successful, and hardworking person in both his career and personal life. Javi could not be more excited to have him as a groomsman.
Stefanie Herrera

Stefanie and Victoria officially met in math class during their first year at UNT, but they didn’t talk until halfway through the semester when they realized how many classes they had together. They became fast friends, and Victoria was constantly capturing all of Stefanie’s funniest one-liners on Snapchat for everyone to see. Stefanie allowed Victoria to connect with her Mexican culture in a way she had not been able to before. She inspired Victoria to join the UNT Mariachi group with her and to work on her Spanish (she’s still working on it to this day with mediocre results…). Stefanie has always been an extremely loyal friend, and Victoria has never had to wonder or worry if she was too annoying or too weird for Stefanie. They’ve always been each other’s hype women. Stefanie (and the rest of the bridal party, tbh) has sat through story after story of Victoria’s terrible dates leading up to Javi, and through all of them she always reassured Victoria that she would find someone worthy of her time. And she did!
Mason Perez
Groomsman
Mason is Javi's youngest brother. They grew up bonding over video games, skateboarding and endless fishing trips with Logan and the rest of their family. Although they're some years apart, they're very close and Javi often mentions how he sees a lot of himself in Mason, always appreciating his ambition and thoughtful nature. Javi is honored to have him and Logan as his groomsman.
