There's so much I could say about my best friend. Two years younger and two months apart, this girl has always been by my side. She's the first person I go to and will still call at 3 am after too many margaritas. She hid in a bush to take our proposal photos and has been my right-hand girl through this whole planning process. My true secret keeper, I couldn't think of anyone better to be my MOH and hold my bouquet, fix my train and make sure I keep it all together before the big day!

Brendan and I met through our Boy Scout troop when we were eleven years old. I tell him everything because he helps me process what’s going on and tells me what I need to hear. He’s supported me in every decision I’ve ever made, whether it was proposing to Sam or streaking during our high school homecoming game. “Do it, Matt,” he always says. “It’ll be so funny.” That’s the kind of encouragement I’ll need when I finally say “I do,” and I’m glad I can count on Brendan to give it to me.

Best friend since '98! This girl may not be my biological sister but she might as well be. We've truly been there for each other in so many ways and for all the big moments in life. She brings so much joy and sunshine to my life and has shown me how bright to let my light shine. In high school, we wrote a bucket list with things like "kiss a stranger" and "skydive" and it's pretty crazy we can now cross off "be in each other's weddings!" ASK for life and always.

Chang and I were originally mutual friends of another person who turned out to be crazy. Realizing this together bonded us in a way we never imagined, and we’ve spent the last eleven years sharing fun outings, late-night video game sessions, fancy cocktails, and a mutual belief that the Los Angeles Lakers are the greatest sports team of all time, even when they suck. He’s always pushed me to be more ambitious and settle only for the absolute best I can achieve, and this wedding will show how much I’ve learned from him.

I met Sean and Tanu once I started dating Matt and tagged along to all his nights out with his friends from college and high school. Tanu and I became especially close friends over the past few years sharing fun memories at bars, beach outings, St. Patty's celebrations, and of course, every Peyote Radio show. I'm so grateful to have gotten closer to this girl who is such a blend of artistic, cool and creative I truly admire and I'm honored to have her part of our celebration!

Sean Nolan

Sean lived across the hall from me in my freshman year of college. We became friends because we both loved music, partying, politics, and shouting at each other. Sean challenges me to be strong in my convictions because the stronger they are, the louder you can shout them. He also challenges me as a musician, especially when he asked me to play keyboard in his band. Without Sean, I might never have realized just how many awesome ways there are to be loud in life.

My first friend since Kindergarten! There's so much I love about this girl and I'm happy we have been able to stay friends for so long. Sarah has taught me to be silly, fun and live with love. I don't think I would've been able to break out of my shell if I didn't have my wild best friend, Sarah by my side through elementary school and now we get to celebrate each other's big moments in life! So blessed to have her part of our day.

My little brother! I almost broke out of preschool trying to see him the day he was born. Zach is a people person with a wild imagination and cleverness that I’ve always envied. We’ve had some fun times and some hard times together, and if I’ve ever been a mean older brother to him, it’s only because he’s taller and better looking than I am. Still, I wouldn’t get married without him standing next to me.

This girl! I smile because we have been so in synch for so much of our lives and it just shows how much we get each other. We were in girl scouts together, became tennis partners in high school, moved out to LA at the same time, became roommates, got engaged the same year, and now are getting married a few months apart! And through it all, we've always been able to stay best friends. She and has seen every side of me and loves me all the same. I am so happy this girl will be by my side as I say "I do!"

I met Tim because we both knew John, but our friendship grew far beyond that initial connection. Tim might be my most likable friend, and for good reason. He’s funny, sensitive, patient, and kind to a rare degree. I’ve spent more time just hanging out with Tim than anyone else because he’s got the kind of personality that doesn’t need an active distraction to engage. I hope our wedding can live up to his, but I know he’ll be a way better groomsman than I was.

We were both transfers into the CCS Lit program at UCSB and became instant friends! We've been to festivals, themed parties, travel adventures, and #bookchella. She's always someone I can count on for a good time but will also be the first friend I think of for a poetry reading. She's watched my relationship grow with Matt since the very beginning and I'm so happy she can be there for our big day. Léna is always someone I can count on no matter the distance in-between.

I don’t think anyone has ever made me cry from laughing more than John has. We met in the 8th grade when I was the new kid looking for friends and he was the guy looking for people who appreciated his dark humor. John’s humor, dark as it may be, comes from his compassion and empathy. He laughs because he understands, and he understands because he cares. I can’t wait to laugh with him on the big day.
