One of our favorite places to visit! We love strolling the colorful cobblestone streets, exploring the historic forts (El Morro and San Cristóbal), and soaking in the ocean views. El Morro is a must-see for its incredible history and views, and El Parque de las Palomas (The Pigeon Park) is a fun spot to enjoy the lively atmosphere of Old San Juan. Just 15 minutes from Isla Verde, it’s perfect for a stroll or photos.
Just 45 minutes from Isla Verde, El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. It’s full of hiking trails, waterfalls, and incredible views. It’s also a place we enjoyed visiting as kids, and it’s just as impressive now — a must-see for anyone who loves nature and adventure.
About an hour from Isla Verde, this is one of the few places in the world where the water glows at night thanks to bioluminescent organisms. Kayaking through the glowing waters is an unforgettable experience!
About 1.5–2 hours from Isla Verde, Culebra is a small island with some of the world’s most beautiful beaches. It's a great place to visit for the day to swim, snorkel, and enjoy the laid-back island vibe — Flamenco Beach is a must-see!
A short ride from Fajardo, Icacos Island is a beautiful beach with crystal-clear waters. It is a perfect half-day excursion that often includes snorkeling, sunbathing, and cocktails on a catamaran tour. We recommend booking tour tickets at least a week or two in advance!
