Written by Jackie (obviously). I was finally on elective after a long intern year and figured I would try out some dating apps. About a month into it, nearly giving up, I swiped right on "Daniel MacGregor." He was funny, so kind, and driven. We had an instant connection. I was excited to meet him in person. I had a trip planned to visit family back in Michigan so our first date was delayed. Daniel didn't mind though and even offered to drive me to the airport (because as I said, he was so kind). We had our first date set for June 25, 2021. I *almost* cancelled last minute so I could keep hanging out with my co-residents at Boulevard Brewing. After some convincing from my friends, I went. Daniel picked me up. We were sat in the back corner of the restaurant. We joked that it must look like we might dine and dash. We spent the evening talking over delicious food and wine. Being around him was easy and I knew I wanted to keep knowing him. Since then, we have spent countless hours talking over delicious food and wine (our favorite is obviously in Italy--Bologna specifically).
Another short story by Jaclyn. We planned a second trip to Italy with my sister and brother-in-law for September 2024. I knew he had the ring and that a proposal was coming but didn't know when. We were on a private boat tour of the Amalfi Coast when he asked to take a picture. He never asks to take pictures so I knew something was up. Initially I said, "no I think we have enough." When he asked again a little later, I agreed and moved to the bow of the boat. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him kneeling behind me. I was so excited about it that I forgot he was supposed to ask *the question* and just went to grab the ring. He didn't even need to ask, but he did and here we are :)
