Welp... Unfortunately, two different venues (Raven Room on Saturday and Uncle Julio's on Sunday) will be out of business by the time Wedding Fest rolls around. We've been working to find replacement venues and mirror those changes on the website. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Paige or Zach.
Friday May 24th is our 8 year anniversary as a couple. To keep this aspect of the weekend simple and low-key, we've decided to legally get married downtown at the Chicago Marriage and Civil Union Court. Between getting married on a weekday, and having a capacity restriction, we've chosen to keep this aspect of the weekend limited to some of the most valuable people in our lives - immediate family and close, local friends. We'll (ideally) get married first thing in the morning (depending on the queue), take professional pictures shortly after, and grab brunch. After sharing a meal and toasting the moment with VIPs, we will pivot to celebrating the rest of our first day as husband and wife solo dolo.
This will be the most casual event of the weekend, and where we will be handing out festival wristbands. Original plans have shifted since our original venue for this day is going out of business end of April. THE NEW PLAN: We have reserved a private space at Replay Barcade from 4-7PM. Each guest will receive a drink ticket when they arrive (anytime after 4PM). Pizza will be delivered around 5PM. Arcade and pinball games are free to play for all guests. We will be transitioning from Replay to another bar that offers karaoke. We are still working out these details and will update the website accordingly.
This will be the day that more closely resembles a wedding you've been to before... kind of lol. We will start off at Barcocina - a trendy Mexican restaurant where we will be enjoying chips and dips, quesadillas, tacos, and other sides. Dinner will be held in a private party room between 4:30-7:30PM. We ask that you show up as close to 5PM as possible, so that you don't miss out on any of the delicious food that will be available to you. Dinner will be fully covered and alcohol will be available for purchase at the private bar. We will start to transition from the restaurant to GMan Tavern (5 minute drive) starting around 7:15PM. The private room at GMan will be available starting at 7:30PM, with the DJ going on at 8PM. Open bar will last the duration of the party (7:30PM-12AM) and include wine, seltzers, beer, and well cocktails / mixed drinks.
Nope! We know that multi-day festivals are draining. If you only have the time and/or energy to attend one or two events, pick then one(s) that sound most appealing to you - this is a "choose your own adventure" kind of weekend! If you are only able to attend one of the nights, and are struggling to make a decision, know that Saturday will lean a little more casual and Sunday will lean a little more traditional.
Friday (for VIPs) and Sunday are the events where we'd recommend wearing a more traditional wedding outfit. We will be wearing our bride and groom attire both days. Saturday has more casual events, but we still support people people wearing their favorite date-night/night-out outfits! Bride and groom will be wearing casual fits (t-shirts, jeans/shorts, etc.)
Yes to both! Both on Saturday (at Replay) and Sunday (at Barcocina), we will be able to provide dinner for our gluten free and vegan friends. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please reach out to Paige directly :)
[Michael Jordan meme] Although we generally like children (especially those who have been raised by our friends and families), unless your kid has a super convincing fake ID, you should leave them with your most entrusted babysitters.
Considering we have been living together for 7+ years, we've decided to forego gifts and instead ask our friends and family to help crowd-fund our honeymoon. Check out the "registry" tab to donate to various aspects of our trip!
