Penny's version: Jake and I met at my best friend and Maid of Honour's Ash's 22nd Birthday party. I was about to move to Melbourne but we managed to get to know each other a little before I left, he even joined me and my friends on a picnic and made match sticks from scratch which was a huge plus in my book and the girls gave Jake the tick of approval. Five years and counting and I haven't seen Jake bake since. We kept messaging while I was in Melbourne and he came over for a visit a few weeks later, while he was visiting I got offered a job in Esperance which we were over the moon about because a 6 hour drive was much more manageable than a plane trip to Melbourne. I threw poor Jake a few challenges when I moved back to Bunbury to work at headspace but at the beginning on 2019 I moved up to Perth permanently and we have never been happier. The proposal Working FIFO Jake was away for our four year anniversary so he planned a weekend away down South when he was back. We spent the night at home in Bunbury with Mum and Pete on the way down, later to find out he had told them that he was planning on proposing while I went for a shower. The next day he drove us down, we stopped in at Busselton where he surprised me with lunch with our friends then took me to a gorgeous cottage on a farm for the night, he made me a stunning platter, poured my favourite wine and put on a playlist he had made of all of my favourite songs. We were watching the sunset and I was telling a very random story when I looked over and saw Jake turning white and then he whipped a box out of his pocket and blurted out the question. I said yes of course and here we are!
