In May of 2017, our friend group had plans to spend the weekend in Arizona. Half the group left on Friday but Sydney had a birthday party to attend Saturday morning and opted to make the drive solo. Derrick, being the gentleman he is, offered to stay behind and make the drive with her. Conversation during the drive flowed easily despite them having met only a handful of times prior. Before the end of the weekend, they both knew there was a mutual interest and they began dating soon after. A few of Derrick and Sydney's favorite memories together: the trips they've taken (Denver, Monterrey, San Francisco), running their first half marathon together, moving into their first home in Arizona, and bringing home Finn and completing their family of four (for now). Derrick proposed to Sydney at Keyhole Arch on Pfieffer Beach in Big Sur, CA in June of 2022. It was the best day of their lives, so far. We can't wait to celebrate with you at our wedding ceremony and reception in March of 2024 in Scottsdale, AZ!
