Currency exchange services are available both airport and hotel. And yes, most places accept credit cards.

How do I contact people when I’m there?

1. Unlock your phone. Once you arrive, your mobile carrier should send you a message and prompt you to unlock an oversea data-package plan. Or you could give them a call before hand. 2. Pocket WiFi. It’s a small device you can bring with that gives you WiFi access all day. How much are the taxi rides from the airport to the hotel? Would language be of concern?

Answer

The taxi cost around 1000-1500 net. There is no issue about the language because there is a service counter before you get in the airport limousine and most of taxi drivers in Phuket could communicate simple English.

How expensive/cheap is everything?

Answer

1 USD = 32.91 Thai Baht. The average price for a taxi from the airport to hotel is $20-30. A bottle of beer costs around $2-3.
