In the midst of a frosty January, where the world was blanketed in a layer of snow, two very different people found themselves navigating the chilly waters of the dating app, Tinder. The New Year had ushered in a sense of change, and they were determined to shake up their routine. The woman, whose name was Amber, was nestled on her cozy bed one night, wrapped in a warm blanket. The only glow in her dimly lit bedroom came from the soft, warm glow of her phone screen. With not much else to do, she submitted to the rather grueling task of navigating through the sea of profiles for potential matches. Each swipe to the right was deliberate and carefully considered. Around that same time, just fifteen minutes down the road from the woman, lived a man named Jonathan who had found himself in a similar predicament. Unlike Amber however, his swipes were conducted in a much more chaotic manner without much thought being put behind his choices as his motives for being on Tinder were a bit different than hers if you can catch what I'm throwing down. As Amber swiped left and right through profiles, she encountered the usual mix of interesting characters and cliché bios. The experience was becoming somewhat mundane, and she was beginning to lose hope of finding anyone genuinely intriguing. But then, just as she was about to close the app and resign herself to another quiet night alone, a profile caught her eye. She was instantly enamored by his charming smile and edgy style. Admittedly, his profile wasn't exactly swoon worthy with his bio simply being "I make music and dig girls that want to ruin my life... nonchalant." But she couldn't ignore the way her stomach fluttered as she looked through his photos so, to the right she swiped, being firm and precise lest her clumsy finger or finicky phone screen mistakenly swipe in the wrong direction, losing him forever. She almost didn't believe it when Tinder joyously announced that the two had matched with each other. Couldn't believe a man as beautiful as him would be interested in her. But she pushed her self doubt and insecurities to the side and took the nerve-wracking initiative to send him a message. Because of Amber's staggering incapability of being a normal person who'd send a normal and simple introductory message, she ended up concocting a rather erratic string of ramblings with the intent of being funny, quirky, and interesting. But in reality she mostly just ended up coming across as... Well, let's just use the word 'unhinged' to keep things civil. Despite that cringe-ridden attempt at flirting though, Jonathan, miraculously, did not end up immediately writing Amber off as being looney tunes crazy and decided to give her a chance, thus officially beginning the first chapter within the ongoing series of their lives together.
