If you ask either one of us if we instantly fell in love... the answer would be a hard no. We met working at the weirdest part-time job imaginable - an escape room. Our job required us to lock people in rooms for 60 minutes and occasionally give them clues that would help them escape... all while watching them on cameras - yes it was as creepy as it sounds. Now- we should preface this story by saying our first impressions of each other weren't the best. Lexi thought that Luke was rude when he trained her and Luke's first impressions of Lexi was simply, " she brought pizza her first day." Needless to say, it wasn't love at first sight... Shift after shift we would sit in a glorified closet and watch people on our monitors. With very little else to do, we began talking, getting to know one another. Confined spaces really encourage this type of bonding. Months went by and we became closer eventually growing from merely co-workers into friends. After a brief miscommunication and some awkward text exchanges- we went to an outdoor concert together where the WORST rap duo to ever exist performed. In the end, the horrible band was a blessing in disguise. We spent the whole evening talking under the stars about anything and everything. We didn't know it was a date at the beginning of the night but, by the end, there was no denying it. We shared our first kiss and the rest was history. Our story is perfectly us. It's unique and weirdly romantic. We like to think god ensured we both needed that part-time job in order to make our paths cross... who knew that locking people into rooms would lead us to where we are today.
