Rob and I were married on May 7th at Andre’s in Sparta. It was the perfect day, surrounded by our immediate family and closest friends. We’re not done celebrating though! July 2nd will be a pretty epic celebration with a rustic Americana charm. We hope to see you at our Happily Ever After Party!
We met back in grade school and little did we know, 22 years later we would be getting married. I always saw Rob as being one of the nicest guys I knew, but I never saw him as anything more than a friend. Rob on the other hand, would tell you he's had a crush on me since the very first day he laid eyes on me! After graduating high school, we went our separate ways. I was married, had my daughter Payton, all while Rob was living it up, traveling for pleasure which eventually turned into work. It wasn't until after I was divorced that Rob and I reconnected while he was back in NJ from Texas where he was working at the time. I was hesitant at first given my history and the fact that he was always traveling for work, so we got to know each other, the adult versions and became very close friends. If you had asked me at the time if I could ever see him being more than a friend like all of my friends who were "Team Rob" all along, I'd tell you the same thing I told them, "no, he's always been like the big brother type to me." After getting to know him more, that all changed and I was finally willing to give him a chance and we had our first official date. It was at a little restaurant in town called "Cinco de Mayo," on the 5th of May, "Cinco de Mayo!" Let's just say, after that night, I saw Rob in a whole different light, Swoon! Getting to know his family showed me where this man that I had found with such a big heart came from and once Payton was introduced to Rob and his family, the bond that formed was instant. Before we knew it, we found ourselves taking the next step and getting our first place together. Our relationship was put to the test while Rob was traveling for work to Arkansas and then the Covid-19 lockdown happened. 3 years later, after making it through some of the most trying times of both our lives, there was no hesitation when Rob popped the question while we were with Payton picking out our Christmas tree and I said "Yes!" "The best is yet to come."
