Raleigh-Durham Airport (RDU) is 20 min from downtown Durham. There is also an Amtrak station. And, for folks who want to carpool, we think they'll be a lot of folks driving down from NY.
Amy once called our style "simply elegant". We think it'll be that, with an emphasis on the simple. The wedding is at a pavilion in a park. We're going to dress it up, but at the end of the day it's going to be at a park with food trucks and music. We just want to hang out and be together and celebrate how amazing it is that we found each other. Wear what you'll be comfortable dancing in. There is grass, so don't wear heels. It'll likely be 65-75 and a little cooler after the sun sets. (Special shout out to Eileen who gave the same heels in grass warning for her wedding. Peggy ignored it and regretted it. Don't be like Peggy)
Yeah, this is tricky. We don't know what October will look like so we're going to have to play it by ear. Everything is outdoors so we are feeling good about that. It'll be around 100 guests including some kids. We are requiring that everyone over 12 get vaccinated before coming. Safety is a top priority for us so we ask you to stay flexible and at a minimum find a sweet mask to go with your outfit. We are also planning to offer green bracelets to people who would prefer to have other guests stay 6 feet away from them.
Yes, please! We love that you want to and it would be a ton of fun to have you involved. We have lots of ways to help - We'll need some help in the days leading up to the wedding, and we'll also need some setup help the day of (there is a farmer's market that uses the space before us, so this is essentially a pop-up wedding). There are lots of ways to help. If you want to help or are just curious, let us know here: https://forms.gle/AxbGUpnHResWEmRq5
We recommend taking a uber, scooter or circuit to the event but if you need to drive the ceremony and reception there is parking right behind Durham Central Park (the venue). The address for the parking lot is 412 Morris St Durham. It’ll be labeled as farmer’s market parking. If you park towards the bottom and take the short path by the woods you’ll see the pavilion
