If you choose to make the drive from Miami or Fort Lauderdale (or really anywhere else), you will traveling down the scenic Overseas Highway (US1). Consistently ranked as one of the best road trips, this drive will take around 3 hours from Miami. Be patient, as the road is mostly a two-lane highway with speed limits ranging from 35-55 MPH. You will be traveling over a series a bridges along the drive, so be sure to sit back, roll down the windows and take in the view with some island tunes in the background like the Beach Boys, Zac Brown Band and Jimmy Buffet!
