Catania International Airport / Palermo Airport
Catania International Airport is the closest airport to Taormina. You can reach Taormina by train (1hr 20min) or by car (54min). If you would like to explore the northwest side of Sicily before the main event, consider flying into Palermo Airport. From there, you can rent a car (~ 3 hours) to reach Taormina. Train
Train from Rome to Sicily
You can also reach Taormina by train! There are both daytime and overnight sleeper trains available, with rooms and beds for an additional fee. The journey is quite convenient, as the train is loaded onto a ferry to cross from the mainland to Messina, Sicily, before continuing directly to Taormina—no need to change trains at all!

Cable Car Taormina
To access the beach from Taormina's town center and return, use the cable car located at Via Luigi Pirandello. It's a 2-minute ride to Mazzarò beach, operating every 15 minutes from 7:30am - 1:30am. Isola Bella beach is a short walk from Mazzarò. Day and week tickets are available.
