Early in 2019, Megan spotted Zach playing guitar at a retreat hosted by his church and was smitten at first sight. Later that year, we were finally introduced by one of Megan's pastors at another retreat hosted by their church (apparently we like retreats!). In our first conversation, we talked about our love for God, people, and life. We continued to be intentional with one another those two short days together to get to know one another. Our friends, who like to take credit for our relationship, hyped us up and finally Zach asked Megan to go on a date. One week later, Zach drove down to Shelby, NC for our first date. One month later, Zach asked Megan to be his girlfriend. Within our first year of dating, we took many trips to visit one another as we were "long distance." The Lord blessed Zach with a great job and, an added bonus, it was closer to Megan! We are so grateful that we get to live life closer together. On December 5, 2020, Zach pulled off the biggest surprise ever! After months of planning and coordinating, Zach asked Megan to marry him under a giant snow globe with a friend photographing the whole thing AND our families and friends waiting for us afterward to celebrate our engagement! Our relationship and this season of engagement has been filled with lots of learning, loving, and serving. We are absolutely humbled and excited that we are about to enter into marriage. We are thankful for each person that has invested in our lives as individuals and as a couple. We pray our relationship glorifies God and is a picture of His love.
