We met at Stub and Herbs, a bar in Minneapolis, MN where Alex was working as a bartender. Word had gotten around that Stubs did a pretty great Bloody Mary special on Sundays so I just *had* to go. None of my friends were available at the time so I decided to put my shame aside and go in for a drink and bite to eat by myself. Sure enough, Alex was bartending that afternoon! I sat at the bar and noticed his bright smile immediately. When he checked my ID we instantly connected after realizing our hometowns were right next door to one another. A couple hours later, after a perfect bloody, a burger and tons of laughter, I forced myself to leave. I went right over to my friend’s house and droned on and on about the bartender that I just met, how kind and funny he was. Over the course of the next couple of months, whenever discussing where to eat or grab a drink, I found myself always wanting Stub and Herbs. After a few visits we finally exchanged numbers! For our first date he suggested we take his neighbor’s dog for a walk around Minneapolis and that’s when I knew this was the guy!
