Michael and I first met in June of 2015. We both started working at the Taste that had just opened in Harbourview, Suffolk. However, I was in a relationship with someone else at the time. It wasn't until May 6th, 2016 that we went on our first date. Michael took me to Adventure Park in Virginia Beach followed by dinner at Fellini's in Norfolk. I'd say from that moment on we were pretty inseparable. Fast forward to August 30th, 2020, Michael had said months prior he had a surprise event he wanted to take me to. We're both pretty bad with surprises so for once I actually wanted to let him surprise me, despite him asking if I "wanted to know anything about it". When the day came, it turned out the event was a surprise picnic on the beach put on by MoonFly. One of the owners was actually someone Michael went to PTA school with. We met her at the beach access where she put blindfolds on both of us and led us to our picnic. Little did I know, Michael took his blindfold off as quickly as she had put it on. She led the both of us to a spot where we'd be instructed to take our blindfolds off and see what they had put together. I took mine off to reveal an absolutely beautiful igloo tent, romantically set with pillows, blankets, champagne, rose petals, and pictures of Michael and I over the years dangling from it's ceiling. I turned around to find Michael on one knee as well as a few of our family members lined up watching the whole thing. That's when he proposed and as you must know by now my answer was "YES!".
