It Started With Citric Acid

One of our mutual friends from Drexel started a music sharing group on Facebook (RIP Citric Acid; Long Live Key Lime Pie in a Burlap Sack). Both music lovers and extroverts, we both shared often to the group and commented on each other's posts. One day, Haley shared Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You" and Nick revealed he had only heard the cover before (James Blake). We haven't stopped talking to each other since.

Our First Camping Trip

In 2015 we drove to Acadia National Park. We went through Boston on the way up and then camped at two different sites in Acadia before stopping at Portsmouth on the way back. This was our first time camping together - we had an old tent with no rain fly and we weren't great at starting fires. We hiked and kayaked and got rained out and slept in the car for the last night. It kicked off many memorable trips and we're still taking chances with each other.

Our Engagement

Our relationship has always been all about equity and partnership and we didn't see a reason to have our engagement be any different! Also Haley gets anxious about surprises. After lots of discussion and questions, we decided to get engaged and married. We worked together on finding nice gifts to exchange with each other to commemorate this time in our relationship. Haley ended up finding the perfect antique ring online and Nick found an awesome mountain bike! We took a hike together in the Wissahickon on March 14 and spent some time reminding each other of all the great memories we've had over the past 6 years, the life we are building together, and dreams we have for our joint future. We celebrated that night drinking our homemade wine, eating vegan cheesesteaks, and making lots of FaceTime calls. We still feel so lucky to get to deliver such glorious news to our families and friends at a very weird time in the world.
