Our Story

First Comes Theatre, Then Comes Marriage

We met on May 16th 2019 in the lobby of our studio alma mater, CenterStage, right here in Gallatin, Tennessee. He was picking up his script for the upcoming musical, Mary Poppins, where he was playing Mr. Banks, and she was playing Mary Poppins. A quick hello and that began the rest of our lives. Rehearsals were in full swing, she in a harness flying around in first position, him letting little Michael Banks play games on his watch, but we both looked forward to the few moments we shared on stage together. Fast forward a year, and we had not missed a day of texting one another. We saw each other almost everyday in the halls of our studio-- exchanging glances, jokes, laughs, and of course, the selfies that he would take on her phone when she was not looking. A beautiful admiration had begun to grow between us and a life long friendship was already set in stone. A few months and several coffee dates later and we decided to finally admit the feelings between us could not be ignored and we chose to go through our lives side by side with each other as best friends, and some day, husband and wife. Our denominations had many differing opinions, ones that we both were very set in our ways about, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, we were able to use our differences to allow us to grow in our faith, study harder, and learn what the importance of being a follower of Christ is really about. As the years went on, many changes occurred in our lives; high school graduation, the start of college, transferring of colleges, changes of majors, different jobs, etc.. but through it all, God remained good, and we remained absolutely certain that we were put on this earth for one another. Fast forward to the summer of 2025-- we lived in Crossville, Tennessee and worked at the wonderful Cumberland County Playhouse. It was June 20th, and we had just opened up our production of "Hairspray" where he played Link and she played Brenda. Several members of our family had come to see our opening night, and coincidentally, there was a beautiful glowing gazebo beside us. (note that 6 months into dating, Julia told Logan that she wanted to get proposed to in a gazebo and she almost always gets her way) And there it was, after five years of dating, six years of friendship, and thousands of conversations about their future later, he popped the big question. Eleven months later and you're here! Here to celebrate with us as we begin the rest of our lives. We thank you all for being a part of our big day, and we so look forward to celebrating with you. Love, soon to be Mr. & Mrs. Purcell.
