Dalton and I went to highschool together, but it wasn’t until the summer after graduation that our story truly started. Dalton claims to have had a crush on me since we were 14 years old...even after I so rudely turned him down for being “too nice”. 4 years later Dalton and I hung out together at a mutual friends house and the rest is history. We talked non-stop for weeks and within the next couple of months we knew this was something serious. Dalton asked me to officially be his girlfriend August 3rd, 2014 and we have been enjoying life together ever since.
Dalton and I’s proposal was a long time coming. I annoyed Dalton for at least a year sending him pictures of rings I liked. July 13th, 2019 was the day Dalton finally got down on one knee. The plan for the day was we were going to get family pictures done and then go out with our family and a couple of friends at the Shops of Legacy. That morning I woke up and got my nails done after my mom insisted. At this point I was getting a little suspicious and a whole lot hopeful that I could be proposed to. The day of the proposal we arrived at a park in Plano with our family. Our photographer and family friend Beth began taking pictures of us all. She did some of me and my brother, my parents, my family, etc all to try and throw me off the track. Beth mentioned to Dalton, “Hey I forgot the family sign in the car. Will you go get it?”. While he was doing this, Beth was taking pictures of just me. A couple minutes go by and I realized that all of my family had disappeared. I see Dalton walking up holding a sign that says “Will you marry me?”. He gets on one knee in front of me and neither one of us have any idea what he said. All we know is that I said yes!! The moment was so special to me not only because I get to marry the man of my dreams, but because my family was able to share the moment with me. We were able to go out and celebrate that night with family and friends and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. We are so ready to take this next step in our journey and can’t wait to say “I do”.
