Mission Bay
We had our first date, sailing on the bay with Sarah's father as chaperone. He knew we were a match the second we started talking.
San Diego Air & Space Museum
We tried to come here for our first proper date. Thanks to a misunderstanding over where to meet, we both got stood up. We did get our first kiss in their parking lot, which made up for the confusion.
USS Midway Museum
We love USS Midway and have spent more hours than we can count exploring both the ship and the aircraft aboard her.
Cabrillo National Monument
Cabrillo is our go-to place to watch the sunset and the waves, and explore the tide pools, as well as volunteer as Historical Interpreters for the park's WWII Observational Bunker. We got engaged here, on an outlook over the bay
San Diego Natural History Museum
One of the best museums in San Diego, we always make sure to visit whenever they get a new exhibit.
Leo Carrillo Historic Park
Michael's favorite place on Earth. He is especially fond of the Ranch's free-roaming peacocks.
Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá
The oldest Catholic Church in San Diego. While it's not our home parish, we attend Sunday Mass here whenever we can.
La Jolla Cove
Sarah grew up snorkeling and freediving at La Jolla. Michael is a more recent convert, but he loves it just the same.

Mission San Luis Rey
One of the oldest churches in Southern California and a beautiful example of Mission Architecture and history, this is one of Michael's favorite places to visit.
Dana Point
Home of the tallship Spirit of Dana Point, we spend a lot of time at Dana Point Harbor, reenacting, hiking, and enjoying the waterfront.
Lyon Air Museum
This museum's collection of vintage aircraft and cars makes it well worth the drive up to LA, but our favorite part is meeting up with our friends to display World War I and II uniforms and kit.
