While we grew up 15 minutes from each other, even going to the same high school and college, we didn't meet until our mid twenties at a friend's pool party. Even though Matt got an ear infection and Carly got a sunburn, we decided to meet up a few days later over Labor Day weekend. Matt really captured Carly's heart when he won over the family dog, Ivy (which if you know Ivy is very tough to do). The fact he also really liked to go out to eat, travel, and scream at Eagles games helped, too. When the two originally met, Matt was immediately drawn by Carly's effortless beauty. Once he got to know her, that beauty was only matched by her nearly endless generosity and kindness. And while Carly isn't quite the cook that Matt is, the daily joy, humor, and love she's given him more than makes up for it. After a few amazing years traveling back and forth to Philly to see each other, where we ate through most of the restaurants in Fishtown, and loyally watched almost every Philly sports game at Garage, when we when we decided to move in together we knew it wouldn't be far from our favorite spots. We moved right across the bridge, and moving in together was seamless. We established our commitment to each other as we dreamed of the same things: we wanted to travel, eventually buy things from Crate and Barrel, and most importantly, adopt a dog. We've travelled (from the West Coast, to Jamaica, and most excitingly, to Paris). We adopted our dog, Philippe, in 2019, but we have yet to own one thing from Crate and Barrel. As our love story continues, we can't wait to celebrate with you so you can see us take our next step, but we must say our lives together have been pretty amazing already.
