Josh and Pearl met in Denver, CO after entering the dating scene of the infamously single city. Turns out, not only were they both Alabama natives, they had both moved from Birmingham, AL within a few days of one another. Further, he was a regular at the dive bar she worked at during weekends throughout school. Who knew it took moving across the country to fall in love with the girl who's always been next door.
After five years of dating, buying a house together, and adopting the best puppy in the world, Pearl put her foot down and said, "I better make it impossible for him to not propose this year." She booked a romantic getaway to Kauai, Hawaii and told everyone down to her nail tech that if it didn't happen by the end of the trip, she would be on the evening news, wearing orange. Little did she know, Josh had the most special plan of all plans to propose to her prior to the vacation and conspired with the closest of their friends to make it the most memorable night. Josh proposed on top of Flagstaff mountain at The Lost Gulch, the overlook where they shared one of their first dates, celebrated a below freezing winter birthday picnic in the pitch blackness of night, and returned to regularly as a special spot they shared with family and friends. Josh got down on one knee, Peanut delivered the ring, and their friends popped up from behind rocks and trees to congratulate the newly engaged couple. Champagne was popped, some (or a lot) was spilled, but not one single moment was wasted that night. It was perfect.
