Brendan and Paige met through mutual friends and quickly hit it off. Being the summer of 2016, Pokemon Go bridged the gap to their first date. They spent the day on foot exploring Forest Park and the Zoo, and riding the Zoo train together in an attempt to hatch Pokemon eggs and swipe the Pokestops, all while getting to know each other. Little did they know, that would be the beginning of the rest of their lives together.

In May of 2019 Paige's cousin (and Maid of Honor), Maddie, invited Paige and Brendan to join her and her now Fiance, Luke, for a day at the Zoo. On May 25th, the four drove there together and Paige was excited to mention to the group that the Zoo is where she and Brendan had their first date. Paige, naturally, took the reins as Zoo tour-guide and Brendan recreated their first-date train ride. A shared craving for seafood spontaneously led the group to Bristol's for dinner. Little did Paige know, every detail of that day was a part of a plan masterminded by Brendan. When the server brought out a dozen oysters, a beautiful ring was the centerpiece of the tray - pointing right at Paige. Somehow she still didn't realize what was happening until Brendan helped her up from her seat, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. Without a shred of doubt, she said yes! The following day, Brendan's family attended Paige's parents' annual Memorial Day party and the couple celebrated their engagement with their families.
