* Which side of the museum is the wedding located?
Answer
LOOK FOR THE GLOBE! Our wedding will be hosted on the Nature Research Center side of the museum with the entrance on Jones Street. Please note there is another wedding happening on the other side of the museum that day. Our wedding will be on the side also referred to as The Globe Side, The West Side, The New Side, or the Side with the Daily Planet Cafe. As true North Carolinians give directions: "If you go to the side with the whale skeleton in the ceiling, you're in the wrong place."

What is the dress code for the wedding?
Answer
The suggested dress code is dramatic and bold, featuring jewel tones, feathers, and sparkles for an avant-garde flair. As we gather to celebrate our special day, we want you to feel as comfortable and fabulous as possible. Please do not feel the need to go out of your way to purchase something new for the occasion. However, if you have an old fur, a sequin dress, or any other glamorous attire tucked away in your closet, this is the perfect opportunity to let it shine. We encourage you to embrace the theme of jewel tones, sparkles, and avant-garde style in whatever way suits you best.

Are children invited to the celebration?
Answer
To allow all guests to relax and enjoy a magical evening of merriment themselves, we have chosen to make our wedding an adults-only occasion. The celebration will conclude at 10:00 PM. We hope this helps you coordinate any childcare arrangements you may need.

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?
Answer
We kindly ask that you arrive between 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM to ensure everyone is comfortably seated and ready for the ceremony to begin promptly at 6:00 PM. Walking to the museum from the parking area will take a few minutes.

Yes! There are ramps, automatic doors, and elevators available.

Is there parking available near your wedding venue(s)?
Answer
Yes! There is plenty of parking surrounding the venue. 1. 100 E Jones St Raleigh, NC 27603 An above-ground lot is located one block east of the Museum, with entrances on Jones and Edenton Streets. 2. 120 W Edenton St Raleigh, NC 27603 The Green Square parking deck is at the corner of Edenton and McDowell Streets, behind the Nature Research Center (NRC). The entrance to the deck is on Edenton between Salisbury and McDowell Streets. Exit the deck on the north side and you will be at the back entrance to the Nature Research Center. 3. Limited metered parking is available along Jones and Edenton Streets. Parking is free and abundant on weekends.

Answer
Yes, the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be held indoors to ensure comfort and convenience for all guests.

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?
Answer
We are excited to celebrate our special day with you! To ensure that our ceremony remains intimate and undisturbed, we kindly request that you refrain from taking photos during the wedding ceremony. We will have the fantastic Amanda Law from Fancy This Photography on site capturing all of these memorable moments. However, we would love for you to capture and share special moments during the cocktail hour and reception.

Will alcohol be served?
Answer
We will have an open bar available during the cocktail hour and throughout the wedding reception. There will be a bar located on the first and second floor of the museum which features our Signature Cocktails and a selection of Beer, Wine, and Call Liquor to cater to your preferences. For those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages, we will also have Water, Soda, Sweet, and Unsweet Tea available. We look forward to raising a glass with you and sharing this memorable occasion!

Please note that our wedding reception will conclude promptly at 10:00 PM. We kindly ask guests to enjoy the celebration with us during this time, as there will not be an after-party scheduled.

Your presence is present enough. Should you like to give a gift to the newlyweds, we will have a small gift table available during the reception. We prefer and encourage you to ship any presents to our home address to help us keep track of your thoughtful gift and prevent any misplacement. What health and safety measures will take place during the event?
Answer
We are committed to the safety and well-being of all of our guests. We will be following all local health guidelines and recommendations. The food will be provided by the Rocky Top Catering team who are committed to creating a delightful and safe experience. Yes! We are pleased to inform you that we have arranged a block of rooms at the AC Hotel in downtown Raleigh for your convenience. The hotel offers exquisite accommodations and is located less than 10 minutes from the wedding venue making it an ideal choice for your stay. Please navigate to the "Hotel" section of this website for more information. Please know that check-in is at 3:00PM, check-cut at 12:00PM and pets are not allowed, so please keep that in mind when making arrangements to stay in Raleigh. I can't attend the wedding in-person, will there be a virtual option to attend?

While we would love for everyone to join us in person on our special day, we regret to inform you that we will not be able to offer a virtual attendance option. We look forward to celebrating with you in-person.
