We matched on Bumble on a Wednesday in June 2019 and quickly hit it off. After talking for less than a day, Nick asked to meet, and Peacha suggested the Gordon Biersch Brewery Thursday Night Market thinking we would meet the following week, however Nick was going to be out of town so we decided to meet less than 24 hours after matching. Once we met, the conversation was nonstop. We closed down the night market, then a bar down the street, and by the time we parted ways, 6 hours had passed.
The first couple of months of the relationship were full of fun, and on a whim we decided to book a cruise for Peacha’s fall break. It felt crazy to book an overnight vacation that soon, but the excitement and adrenaline overpowered any of our doubts. Naturally, we said it was our anniversary trip, because we wanted to see what amenities we would get. And so it was on our first night at dinner, over a heart-shaped “Happy Honeymoon” cake, where Nick blurted out “I love you” and we both started crying like babies.
During COVID we started an annual tradition to take a road trip and in 2022 Nick suggested Denver, Colorado. The year prior we did a DIY photo shoot in the Portland International Rose Test Garden, and Nick suggested we continue the photo shoot for this year’s trip. Peacha got a little suspicious when Nick hired a photographer, but was assured by her friends that “you’re both extra, so don’t overthink it.” After a few days of hiking, we arrived in Denver and Peacha was in need of a new manicure, so Nick had to scramble to get it fixed without raising suspicion. Thankfully we had scheduled afternoon tea and he convinced her to get her nails done for cute teacup-holding photos. We started the photoshoot like normal, exploring the gardens and posing. Halfway through the shoot, we reached Nick’s intended proposal spot… only to find it was booked for a wedding! Nick suggested Peacha do some solo photos with one of the photographers while he did damage control with the other. Eventually, we found ourselves back at a secluded spot from earlier in the shoot. Right before the big moment, Peacha noticed Nick’s cheek twitching and knew her suspicions were correct. He got down on one knee to pop the question, and of course, Peacha said yes!
