Travel Note
Rental Cars are pricey and rare during the pandemic. Please be sure to arrange transportation early and well ahead of time. Bicycles are a very popular thing in Santa Barbara. I'm much to lazy to ride too far (Jonathan), but it's a great city to bike around in. Busses are not very prominent here. Uber is very popular, but can add up.
Flight
This airport is very close to the wedding. One could drive to the airport from any listed destination (see our things-to-do page) within 30 minutes in decent traffic. There are 7 airlines with flights into this airport. The TSA wait times are typically very short here (15 minutes). We believe it is an absolute must to use this airport. Between the long and unreliable drive to LAX, the distanced drive and limited/iffy flights out of Santa Maria, and the lack of anything else that close, this is your best option for flights in and out.
Flight
This is not our preferred place to land. It is out of the way at 1hr and 30 minutes (in good traffic) from the wedding location. TSA line times can be bad, but have not been to egregious by our experiences (1.25 hours is Jonathan's record there). Given the distance and crowds, only fly here as a last resort.
Flight
This is a great small airport but is not a good option for most folks. Only Allegiant Airlines fly's in to this airport, with flights to Los Vegas (LAS), Phoenix Mesa (AZA), and Portland (PDX). Allegiant has been known to cancelled and changed many of its flights last minute during the pandemic. Buyers beware. The TSA wait times are typically very short (15 minutes) here. This Airport is a very consistent 1hr drive to the wedding destination.
Train
This is a decent station to stop at if you want to use public transportation to get to our wedding. The trainline has routs that run through LA to Riverside. There is no direct routes from Santa Barbara to most places, but a combination of bus and train can land you anywhere in the Inland Empire.
