We met about a decade ago when we were in college at RIT and Penn State. Kayla never set a dumpster on fire, and Pat never sprained his ankle sliding down stadium bleachers, but we can't say the same for the other. Time was good to us. We graduated, got employed, moved around the country, and settled into adulting. We reconnected over three years ago and had our first date at Pat's house in Pittsburgh. We cooked a soup together for dinner, and little did we know, it turned into 30+ more soups. In 2022, Kayla moved in with Pat in the Burgh. Pat started watching Survivor, and we traveled to new places together, like Ecuador and Middletown, OH. The following year, we promised each other we'd make a lifelong dream come true of moving to the mountain west. We considered lots of places, but everything clicked when we visited Missoula, MT. We even manifested our first pet when we picked up a trout dog toy before making our way home. We adopted Dame Eyebrows shortly after. In 2024, we did the thing and moved to Missoula. We’ve gotten out of our comfort zone, met great people, and explored beautiful places. It was during our trip to the Tetons in the fall that Pat popped the question, and Kayla said yes! Now we’re making the most of our time in MT before heading to Salt Lake City. Before we move, we’ll have some of our closest friends together for a commitment ceremony in MT, and we can’t wait for the big day in October with more friends and family.
