The Cottage Vineyard and Winery is hands down a favorite in the area! Great wine and great views! They usually have a food truck on property , but also have cheese and meat trays for purchase. Children are allowed on property.
There is a lot of fun place in downtown Dahlonega. Great good, antique stores and historic buildings!
Cavender Creek has great wine and a great atmosphere. There is an outdoor area with fire pits and there is usually live music on the weekends. If there is a big game, they will usually have it playing on the TVs. No children under 16 allowed. They have a limited menu that includes snack type foods.
Montaluce is a great choice for foodies! They have excellent food choices. Montaluce is a Tuscan inspired vineyard, you will feel like you aren't in Dahlonega anymore! There are two restaurants on property, we highly recommend The Trattoria di Montaluce. Reservations for dining are encouraged.
Wolf Mountain Vineyards is another great place for foodies! They have an excellent menu and great views! We recommend making a reservation for dining. Children are allowed.
This is a great hike with a round trip of 4.1 miles and a 1,453 vertical feet. It is definitely recommended for more experienced hikers as the elevation is quite intense. Be sure to bring plenty of water and take your time on this hike! It is not recommended to takes this hike after or during rainy/wet conditions as there is more chance of slipping.
If you have the chance, stop in to Yahoola Creek Grill for a bite to eat! Payton worked here during college and the food is great. If it's a nice day, we recommend grabbing a seat on the patio deck.
The Dahlonega Fudge Factory is one of Dahlonega's oldest and most popular businesses. 40 years in business on the Dahlonega square, so you know it's good! Payton worked here while attending college. Stop in for a sweet treat!
Doghobble is a newer winery option in Dahlonega. We visited recently and really enjoyed the atmosphere.
So many fun memories at Picnic Cafe! In college Payton had friends that worked here and it was a popular lunch spot. Payton would also come here to study or hang out in between classes. Definitely stop in if you are visiting downtown Dahlonega.
Shenanigans Irish Pub is a Dahlonega staple! they have great food and a great atmosphere. In college, this was the place to go for fun events like live music, trivia, and even Karaoke! Shenanigans was walking distance from where Payton lived in college.
Payton's alma mater. The campus is right off the Dahlonega Square. So many fun memories and friends made while attending school here. Take a drive around and take in the beautiful campus! Payton met Anabel, Mariah, and Karen while attending school here, along with many more friends that will attend the wedding this fall.
Woody Gap Trail Head is a portion of the Appalachian Trail. There is a lookout area here where you can see great views! You can enter the Appalachian Trail at the Woody Gap Trail Head. We recommend researching before hiking as there are a couple options for a hike when entering at Woody Gap.
Preacher's Rock is an easy and popular hike in Cleveland. You enter at the Woody Gap Trailhead and follow the signage to Preacher's Rock. It's about a 2 mile round trip and the view is amazing from Preacher's Rock! There is a bit of a rocky incline at the final stretch!
Yahoola Creek Park is great for picnicking. There are playgrounds and several open fields for playing. There is also a disc golf course. Payton played pick up soccer here frequently.
Great view and blood mountain trail entrance. This is a semi difficult hike. Take your time, bring lots of water.

Anna Ruby Falls is a great hike for someone looking for something easy with great scenery. It only takes about 20 min round trip and is paved. Dog friendly!
Be prepared for a narrow drive to the parking lot and a steep climb to the observation deck, but the views of Hiawassee and Lake Chatuge are beautiful! Great for a picnic!
Easy hike at about 1.2 mile round trip. You can start the hike for the visitors center. This is the highest peak in GA!
