Getting to Our Wedding

GETTING TO TELLURIDE We recommend flying into either Montrose Airport (MTJ) or Telluride Airport (TEX) and taking a shuttle to your hotel/lodging. The Telluride/Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) is the primary airport for Telluride. Guests can take advantage of 14 direct flights from 11 major U.S. cities (Including Chicago O'Hare) to the Telluride/Montrose Regional Airport, a scenic 65 miles, or one and a half hours away from Telluride. All options are listed below. FLYING TO TELLURIDE AIRPORT The Telluride Airport sits atop Deep Creek Mesa and is North America's highest commercial airport. Flights into this airport are via commercial turboprop (Boutique Air), commercial jet (Denver Air Connections) and private jet aircraft. Airlines also codeshare with United (www.united.com) if you are flying from an area other than Denver. At times, due to weather, flights may be diverted to area airports 90 minutes away or cancelled outright. Should this occur, the airlines will provide ground transportation to your lodging, FLYING TO MONTROSE REGIONAL AIRPORT Montrose to Telluride – approximately 1 hour and 15 minute drive If you are flying into Montrose Airport (which we recommend due to its proximity and reliability), you should arrange for a shuttle with Telluride Express or Mountain Limo. They have door to door, shared-ride and private services for you to choose from. There are also car rental services on site at the airport, but please note that parking is limited in Telluride, and that there is a fee to park almost everywhere. There is a free gondola that runs between the Town of Telluride (very small, walkable town) and Mountain Village.

Telluride Express (www.telluride.letsride.co) and Mountain Limo (www.mountain-limo.com) provides airport transfer service from Telluride to Montrose. Rental cars are also available at the Telluride/Montrose Airport but we recommend the ground transportation option as once you arrive in Telluride a car is unnecessary.

Getting Around Town

August 14, 2025 12:00 am

The Town of Telluride is only about a mile long and easily walkable wherever you need to go. Unless you plan on visiting attractions outside of Telluride or Mountain Village, there is no need to rent a car. The free gondola from Mountain Village will drop you into town in under 20 minutes. **Free gondola will provide transportation between Telluride and Mountain Village, and we will provide transportation to the ceremony and reception. Free Gondola: Riding the gondola never gets old! The ride on the “G” provides expansive vistas of the San Juan Mountains, Aspen cloaked mesas and sun struck waterfalls as well as a bird’s eye view of both towns. On a clear day, riders can see all the way to the La Sal Range in Utah. You will utilize the gondola to travel between Telluride and Mountain Village (it’s a quick 13 minute ride), as well as to access the San Sophia Ridge and Allred’s Restaurant. The Gondola Hours are from 7:00am to midnight, but on certain weekends the hours are extended to 2:00am. We will update this if the hours are extended. Dial-A-Ride: Offers free transportation in and around Mountain Village for guests staying at private homes and condos in Mountain Village. Your property management company will provide access codes for use. Galloping Goose: Bus Service provides free transportation in and around the Town of Telluride on a prescheduled loop. Uber/Lyft: These services are not available, so please do not plan on them. If you need to schedule a vehicle for any reason, please do so in advance with Telluride Express or Mountain Limo.
