We first met the summer before sixth grade when both Payton and Andrew were asked to play basketball with a group of friends in his neighborhood. Payton was first introduced to Andrew by her friend Maria as "her future boyfriend." In seventh grade during gym class, the teacher stated "99% of people meet their future spouse in this class." Payton looked around to make sure Andrew was in her class and sure enough, he was. They even dated for approximately two weeks in seventh grade, but decided they were much better off as friends. Flash forward to the summer before senior year of high school, Payton decided to go out on a limb and strike up a conversation with Andrew over Snapchat. After months of talking, she finally asked him to carve pumpkins at her house, and the rest is history. Andrew proposed on December 7th, 2024 (two days before their seventh anniversary) at Capaul's Christmas Tree Farm after telling Payton for weeks that he "really wants a real Christmas tree."
